There was a time when only what is in “imperialist” Manila that gets exposure on national TV and the eyes of business books in the country. Especially if this concerns entrepreneurship or corporate business. Unless you are a Chinese taipan in a bigger city outside of Manila like Cebu, the media wont even give you a second look to be accorded precious airtime and book page with national exposure. Just because you are just local and from the boondocks.
This time however, it looks like the tides are slowly turning as local entrepreneur Alexander Bangsoy, CEO and President of Goshen Land Capital Incorporated gets featured for the third time on national TV at TV5 and as one of the 50 national entrepreneurs to be featured in Go Negosyo’s new book on Philippine business. Go Negosyo is a private initiative by one of the country’s old business families led by Joey Concepcion supposedly to encourage entrepreneurship as a job creator in the country. It seems that local entrepreneurs from the provinces are getting noticed now on the national stage as Bangsoy was also awarded as a finalist in the global Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards lat 2013. He was recognized together with other entrepreneurs outside of Metro Manila including our very own Narda Capuyan known for her Ikat weaving industry in Baguio and Benguet.
National TV network TV5 featured Bangsoy on its Big Time show in May this year while Realty TV of television network ANC featured him twice already as Bangsoy’s homegrown company Goshen Land made its presence felt in Baguio and Northern Luzon as the premier developer of the North. The Go Negosyo book was launched in November this year at the Manila Polo Club with British Ambassador Asif Ahmad as guest of honor and speaker.***/JD
